Over the years, I’ve heard stories about married couples and their in-laws. I’ve heard both the good kind and the bad kind and believe me, some of them actually got me a little worried about my own relationship with my soon-to-be in-laws at that time.
Now that I’m married, I realize that I worried for nothing. Admittedly, for a brief period before my husband and I got married, I actually worried about my in-laws accepting me and how I would be with them. I then chose to lift up my worries to God and trusted that when God writes your love story, He’s got your back and covers all the details. I realize now that His plans for my life are perfect and I wouldn’t have them any other way.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
In all honesty, I really consider myself extremely blessed.. because He has given me new extended family with whom I can share life and love with. I know not all married couples have good relationships with their in-laws.. And this is why I thank the Lord every day for giving me this blessing. Never have I imagined this love and acceptance that I could (and constantly) receive from my very own in-laws.
In addition to that, it is so very heartwarming to know that, just like my own parents and my sister, my in-laws are also very excited for my baby girl. There is a peace in my heart knowing that Jets, baby Janella, and I are wholeheartedly accepted by both sides of our families.
In light of this, I would like to share with you a few photos from the baby shower my in-laws threw last July 31,2016 for baby Janella, Jets, and I.
Below are a few photos of those who celebrated our little girl with us!
To my in-laws, thank you for loving and caring for me constantly. You are all blessings in my life. Also, a big big thank you for throwing Baby Janella this baby shower. It was a lovely gathering.
To those who attended and celebrated Baby Janella with us, thank you so much for your time and the gifts you’ve given for our little girl. God bless you all!
